SMB Signing - Server 2003
Are there any services or functions that require SMB signing tobe enabled?I understand the inherent security risk of turning it off, but I heard that Domain controllers lose some functionality if it is disabled.

Hi there, As far as I know it's not a required feature. I'd recommend leaving it on except when you have a special application or something that requires SMB signing to be turned off. I believe there'll be no loss of functionality either, because SMB signing doesn't do anything more than sign the (or authenticate as you will) the packets that are being sent over the network. I hope this helps. Regards, Stefan
