The database is on the same server as SCVMM, is mounted, can be accessed and the SCVMM service starts manually without any problems.

I'm using an account to run the update that has sysadmin rights on the DB.

I have enabled verbose logging for MSI but the logs don't really reveal anything.

Can anyone help or point me in the right direction please?

Thanks,

Mike.

1. Restart the SCVMM server

2. Open the command prompt with elevated privileges

3. Run the SCVMM 2012 R2 UR6 package from elevated command prompt using the following command:

msiexec.exe /update PackageName.msp

I hope it works!
