SCVMM - Disaster Recovery and Multiple SQL database servers

Experts,

I have a scenario of setting up a Hyper-v site for DR.  The current SCVMM server is based at Site A with a SQL DB for VMM also at Site A.  Should DR be invoked, and Site A is lost the VMs at Site B will need a VMM server.  What I'm looking for is to implement a new VMM server at Site B which reports into a replicated SQL DB.

What's the best way of going about this?

Thanks in advance, Matt.

The best scenario is to provide a highly available VMM infrastructure too.

You can build a HA VMM infra by using a VMM fail-over cluster coupled to an SQL server DAG (Database Availibility Group).

You will have one active VMM server in Site1 and a Passive VMM server in Site 2.

You will have the active VMM Database in Site1 (SQL Node 1) and a replica database in Site 2.

When the Site1 is down, you will be bale to switch to your VMM infra in Site2.

Yes it's recommended and best practice to configure a HA for VMM and SQL-DB.
