Odd issues on all my consoles, if I go to Properties of say an old Service or Request offerings. As it loads briefly for a second I can see all the details in the main window as expected, but then they vanish and all I see is a blank screen as such:

If I go and try and create a new Service Offerings, some of the controls are out of whack and I can't for example use drop down boxes or scroll down in long lists, but text fields are fine. If I restart the machine, its fine to create new stuff, however soon as I open an old item, the issue reoccurs and then I got issues creating new stuff again.

I'm on SCSM 2012 R2 and I got this issue on Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows 7 alike. Seems to be more of an MMC3 issues than a SCSM issue, but only SCSM seems affected and as described, it's not immediate, it only becomes an issue after opening certain things in the SCSM console. Afterwards the console seems slower as well in general.

You need to check the logs on the workstations with the SCSM console and SCSM management server. The issue is related to WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) or SCSM objects.

The blank screen is a bug in the console. It was fixed in UR2 for SCSM 2012 R2. So upgrade the console to latest UR and the screen will not be blank anymore.

fixes included in UR2:

• Service Manager console maximized mode fixes
• The console when maximized is slow / laggy and constantly has upwards of 30% CPU utilization when running in maximized mode
• Context menus in the SM console dont render where expected and instead show up at the top-right hand corner of the main window
• Scroll bars for the work items preview pane do not render when running in full screen mode, and even if they do, they are inactive and cannot be used (the slider refuses to move)
• Forms/Wizards dont always render properly and only have the left navigation pane rendered with the right area blank
• When editing / creating Request Offerings User Prompts are not rendered properly
