SCOM scheduler is off its schedule

Hello everyone,

I have asked this question couple of months ago as well.
Have anyone noticed scom scheduler is not following the defined intervals.?

I am using rules carrying vbscript to run on specific server class. Used simple recurring scheduler.
Set interval to every 8 hours or 12 hours. It worked fine for few days.

Now I am able to see that the script ( which has  debug event logging in opsmanager log) is running every x (random number ) of mins. Ideally it should be running at the given intervals.

Any pointers how to fix this?

Thanks

When you setting script rule with schedule 8 hours, it will run the script for 8 hours interval. The exactly time interval is depends on how business of healthservice.exe and may not exactly 8 hours. May be 8 hours plus xx minutes when xx value is a very small value. Moreover, every aent startup will run the workflow IMMEDIATELY (or as soon as the agent is capable of running workflows).
So would you mind to provide more information about x(random number) of mins?

Hi Roger,

Thanks for replying back.

So far the rule scheduled for 8 hrs is getting triggered at 10 mins, sometimes 12 mins or even 8 mins. There is no fixed pattern to it. And yes its way off than 8 hr interval and its not 8 hrs + few mins.

Thanks

Manish

I want to clarify that your schedule rule, with schedule 8 hours, run every 10 mins, 12 mins or even 8 mins.

Is it correct?

As a result, your schedule rule will run more than 10 times in a daily base rather than 3 times(expected). Right?

Hello All,

Is there a way to investigate it further.?
Like any specific tools for debugging what's going on with the specific agent.

Any pointers will be helpful.

Thanks

Added sync parameter, that seems fixed the problem for the time being.
