I have created distributed applications for our remote locations. Each contain couple of servers, switches, routers, etc... The health Explorer for this particular location , under "Availability" contains "All Contained Object" (monitored state) and Blank Distributed Application Health Roll-up (not monitored). Each entity looks to have all the same sub-entities except for their monitored states.
I have a device (a switch) down at this remote location and the health explorer only shows it in critical state under the "blank" entity and it does not roll up pastthe "not monitored" - Blank Distributed Application Health Roll-up. In the " All Contained Objects", the device is in a not monitored state.
I need for the DA to reflect the worst state of All contained objects. Also, why is there a Blank Distributed Application Health Roll-up and how could entities be "Monitored" under this roll-up and not the "All Contained Objects" roll-up?
Our environment has had the SP1 update (kb971541) which contains the kb958490 hotfix.

I have placed the child entity in maintenance mode 3 times but it has not changed from unmonitored to monitored. The child entity's children changed to not monitored the on the first attempt but returned to monitored on the second. I am trying maintence mode on the whole DA (next layer up) to see what happens.
