We have SCOM 2007 R2 in place. There are 6-7 regions[countries] and we have one MS present in each region which send the data to one centralized DB. Now, if we pointed the agents of one MS to another for reporting and removed the MS, would it impact the current environment in context of bandwidth issue or data read/write issues?

Hi 

you need to place a gateway server instead of MS, GW server has in built capability to compress data.

once gateway server is placed you can remap agents to GW and decommission MS.
