SCOM Alert for Certificates which are about to Expire
Dear All, We have many Web servers, exposed to Internet and most of them have Certificates enabled on the Web applications. We need a solution to know when the Certificate is going to expire, say at least 7 to 10 days in advance, so that we can plan and renew the Certificate before it expires and avoid any disruption of services provided through these web applications. We are trying to figure out if we can do through SCOM. Let us know the way out. We are ok with any kind of VB Script, which can do the job for us. Also, all the Certificates are generated through Internal Enterprise CA based out of Windows Server 2003. Let me know, you require any further information on this. Regards :: Phani Kumar

Hi, The suggestions from Paul in the thread (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserversecurity/thread/bf15f89a-02b2-4e77-a84f-4a1b7cc28dde) should help you. In addition, the following article mentions that the Web Sites and Services management pack collects a parameter called DaystoExpiration. It should be able to help you determine when a certificate will expire and alert on it if it meets a certain criteria. Microsoft Operations Manager Web Sites and Services Management Pack Guide http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc181184.aspx Hope the information is helpful. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi , You can try using camonitor.vbs , which gives you a script to monitor CA request, you can modify the code to fit your requirement. @joson did you try using this script for non CA certificates ? http://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/ScriptCenter/en-us/164e8047-d7bf-4774-91cf-90d46b82e725
