I know there was a management pack for SCOM 2007 and KMS. Has one ever been released for SCOM 2012? If so, where can I get it and instructions on how to best do this with KMS, SCOM 2012 R2, and Server 2012 R2.

My understanding is that the 2007 SCOM pack doesn't work in SCOM 2012.

Unfortunately there isn't a KMS MP for SCOM 2012.
From what i know there isn't a road map for this, which means Microsoft dont have plans to release one.

The MP for KMS 2008 works for KMS on WS2012 as well. And SCOM 2007 MPs work with SCOM 2012 (R2) either.

Just create a new string value "KeyManagementServiceVersion" with the value "dummy" (or anything else) under
HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform

After that the MP will discover the KMS. Just give it time (24h), restart agent or override the discovery interval temporarily.

Confirmed as working here with KMS hosts on 2012 R2 linked successfully to SCOM 2012 R2.

Very bizarre why MS dropped use of this key with KMS in 2012 and 2012 R2. Especially as its the trigger for SCOM to identify KMS running on a monitored host.
