SCOM 2012 R2 UR6 - problem with SCOMpercentageCPUTimeCounter.vbs script ?

Hi everyone,

strange things are happening on a brand new SCOM 2012 R2 UR6 infrastructure. I have a lot of Warning alerts stating that "Operations Manager failed to start a process: could not create PropertyBagData because the above mentioned scripted ended with a "this object does not manage property or method oProcess.IDProcess" - sorry if it does not match the actual message but the alert is in french.

So, I had a look at the script and I noticed that:

  • it uses objects from Win32_PerfRawData_PerfProc_Process  and Win32_PerfFormattedData_PerfProc_Process WMI classes
  • these classes have a property called ProcessID
  • these classes DO NOT have a property called IDProcess
  • the script tries to deal with IDProcess property and logicallly fails

All my agents have the same error. I did not notice this with UR5. Does anyone know anything about this ? Seems to be a script bug.

Regards,

P. Augras

I'm deploying UR6 in dev next week, I'll reply back then if I see this.

Ok, it's a known bug and being investigated.
