SCOM- 2007 R2- Setting up an email alert when a website goes down

I currently have email configured within SCOM for basic alerts such as cpu/memory,etc.  I am looking to set up an alert where our DBA is notified when websites go down. I am looking in the SCOM console under Monitoring/Microsoft Internal Information Services/Web Site State. I saw a few blogs where it states to create a new channel. Does this mean I would need the server name of each one that the website resides on?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated

When they say create a new channel, they are talking about a notification channel (ie: smtp, sms, etc).  So in order for your DBA to get alerts on these websites, you will have to possibly create a new notification channel, subscription, and possibly add him as a subscriber to this notification for IIS alerts.  Of course you can get real specific with what he gets alerted on, or you can make it wide open.  Try these links for more information:
