SBS Server 2008 and TRIM support for SSD
hello all, i am considering moving the system drive from HDD to SSD. I will be using Intel SSD's that support the TRIM command very well. however, will SBS server 2008 support TRIM? .. or do i have to install the Intel ToolboxYou can either be part of the problem or be part of the solution.

Hi, Thank you for your post here. I am afraid that SBS 2008 which is based on the Windows Server 2008 doesn't support TRIM command because TRIM command is firstly shipped with Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7. Does Windows 2008 Storage Server support the TRIM command? http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/winserverfiles/thread/ec602d80-9b9a-4571-b08d-3413d1648d91 Trim Test http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee820155.aspx If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Thx Miles, that is the answer i expected but not was hoping for. i will get by with the intel toolbox for now. do you have any idea if SBS Server 2008 will receive a R2 rollup? i really would like to make the switch to R2 but i am worried about migrating from a SBS server to a regular server that provides all the same services manually You can either be part of the problem or be part of the solution.
