Running totals per page in SSRS to display cumulative totals in footer

while running totals per page in SSRS to display cumulative totals in footer, it shows correct totals in preview and exporting it to PDF, but in word it does not show page totals on every page instead it shows the complete totals of the records.

For totals I have used sum(ReportItems!TextBox_totals.value) in footer.

Hi nmadminemp,

As we tested in our environment (SSRS 2008 R2, Word 2010), we have created a report to display page total value and running total value in page footer, all those two values can display fine in BIDS. However, after exporting to Word, all pages will display the same values as the first page in page footer.

In Reporting Services, when a page footer or page header contains a complex expression that evaluates to different values on different pages of a report, the same value might display on all report pages. This occurs because Word renderer parses the report for fields related to pagination such as PageNumber and TotalPages and handles only simple reference, not calls to a function. For more information, please refer to this article:  Exporting to Microsoft Word (Report Builder and SSRS)

In your scenario, the returned values in page footer are based on different pages. Though use multiple textboxes run instead of one complex expression, its still not able to avoid the issue.

Since you mention the page total values on all pages are replaced by complete totals in Word, which is different from our test results. Would you please share the report design and some screenshots about render results in BIDS and Word? So that we can try to reproduce the issue.

If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

Best regards,
Qiuyun Yu

Hi Qiuyun Yu,<o:p></o:p>

Our SQL Server product version is 11.0.5592.0 and we are checking the output in Word 2013.<o:p></o:p>

So the totals of the last column is shown in the footer which is calculated incorrectly.<o:p></o:p>

Hi nmadminemp,

Based on my test, each page display the same running values or total values as in the first page footer when exporting to Word in SSRS 2012. In your scenario, since you mention the last column is shown in the footer which is calculated incorrectly, would you please share some screenshots about Word renderer and Preview results? Also please share report design with sample data if it's possible.

Best regards,
Qiu
