Routing and Remote access
Hello sir I have windows server 2008 in my office I have configured Routing and Remote access services from Add roles. in my office my network is 192.168.2.1. I have another machine the network of that machine is 192.168.1.2 and windows 7 is installed. I want to communicate both the machine through Routing and Remote acccess please help me and tell me it is possible. huz

Hi huzefa, Thanks for posting here. We need set proper routing entries on router that connects with both two IP segments in order to forward the traffics between them . So may I know the topologic you reference ? Id assume it is below: ClientA---(192.168.2.0)---RRAS---(192.168.1.0)ClientB RRAS is having addresses 192.168.2.1 , 192.168.1.1 its two interfaces. ClientA is having an address 192.168.2.2 ClientB is having an address 192.168.1.2 The entries we need to add on each host below are below: RRAS: 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.2.0 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.0 ClientA: 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.2.1 ClientB: 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1 Small Office Network http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc776089(WS.10).aspx Chapter 5 IP Routing http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727001.aspx#EEAA We need also to modify firewall policy on Windows Server 2008 or Windows 7 in order to allow the ICMP : Nobody Can Ping My Computer http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc749323(WS.10).aspx Thanks.
