Routing and Remote Access causing issues
I have been having serious issues in the last few days with our server. It turns out that it's the Routing and Remote Access causing the hiccup because once it's disabled, everything works i.e. internet, AD, etc. When we enable it, everything goes down!
I am not sure what the problem is but I am hoping maybe someone here might have any suggestions on troubleshooting this. I have tried many different configurations with no luck so now I am just begging for help!
A little information on our setup: We're running a Windows Server 2008 R2 box on a single NIC. The DHCP is done by our switch, but of course the server has a fixed local ip. We setup the Routing and Remote Access because we need a VPN connection and it's
pointing at the one NIC. Like I said, the minute this thing is running, everything goes down.
Here is what I find interesting: I rebooted the server and the internet was working again but as soon as I open the Server Manager and expanded the Roles node (exactly at that point), everything goes offline again! Eventually I would get an error from AD
saying "Naming information cannot be located for the following reason: The server is not operational."

Hello,
have you enabled RRAS on a DC? If yes then this is not recommanded and will cause AD problems.
