Restricting access to network drive
I have 30 people in the authenticated user group and their profile maps them to our shared drive. I have 1 person who needs to be restricted from accessing the shared drive. Other than adding the person to the root of the share and setting DENY permissions, or changing their particular Profile is there a way to restrict them from accessing the shared drive?

Hi Mandark, There should be no other way to restrict the specific user from accessing the shared driver. I would like to suggest that you explicitly grant the user with DENY permission either on share or NTFS security to the shared driver. That should be the most effective way. Hope it helps.

I chose the add user, set deny method also. I just wanted to see if there was a different way, like maybe modifying the user's profile then setting a group policy to prevent the user from mapping back to the share because we have roughly 5TB of data in a little over 3.5 million directories. Replication takes forever (lol) Thanks.
