Restore Default File Permissions
Someone removed the default permissions for Users and Creator Owner from one of my Server 2008 servers. It seems like that broke WSUS. Is there an easy way to put back the default permissions for Users and Creator Owner for a particular drive letter?John Marcum | http://www.TrueSec.com/en/Training.htm | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum

You seem to recommend the solution to reapply default templates. Please be aware that default templates does not contain NTFS permissions for folders like Program Files, Windows, Users and so on. In fact, default templates for NTFS permissions are pretty useless. The same thing is for Registry. Moreover, Microsoft has an article in KB where it says that reapplying sec templates for reestablishing default NTFS/Registry permissions is not recommended and not supported for Vista, Win7, and 2008.
