Restarting Print Spooler in Windows 8

I followed the tutorial on how to restart spooler, I was not able to press restart so I pressed start.

A window titled; Service popped up; Which read - Windows could not start the print service on local computer.

Error 1068: The Dependency Service or Group failed to start.

Now, What do I do?

do you have some 3rd party software that manages your printers which also runs as a service alongside the spooler?

what happens if you open a command prompt and type: net stop spooler

then net start spooler

?

Hi,

In general, the error indicates that the service did not start because one or more services that it depends on failed to start.

Run services.msc on Windows 8, double click Print Spooler service and select Properties Dependencies, confirm that if the services list are running.

Besides, run regedit and locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Spooler. Confirm that if the value of DependOnService is RPCSS and http.
