Restart Service
Hi all
We have Hyper v 2012 r2 cluster , if we restart the Hyper v Virtual Machine Management Service on one of the node , does this effect the running virtual machines on this node or we want to move the virtual machines first to another node then restart..

You can safely restart the VMMS service. Virtual Machines will continue to run properly. The VMMS service is for management services.
Just for information, if you stop the VMMS service, the cluster service will try it to start it. VMMS can be stopped on a non-clustered Hyper-V deployment.

Hi ITP12,
Agree with Samir.
It would not affect the running VMs.
It would only affect the ability to manage VMs. Such as through Hyper-V manager.
Best Regards,
Leo
