Report builder with claim-based authentication

Hi there,

i have SSRS 2012 running in sharepoint integrated mode, if i set the site's authentication to window Authentication (NLTM), Report builder can open and edit a report with clickonce directly. However, if change the authentication of the sharepoint site to use our custom trusted identity provider, i will not be able to open, edit  a report and even connect to the report server.

The link below mentioned that Reporting service client does not support SAML claim based authentication, is this statement still valid for SSRS 2012? Is there any work around for this issue?

Hi Lslly,

The Reporting Services client applications: Report Builder, the Report Designer in Business Intelligence Development Studio, and Management Studio do not support connecting and authenticating with LiveID or SAML Claims based SharePoint Web applications. That's because the SAML Claims don't use the Reporting Services authentication endpoint. So, you have to change the Claims authentication type to use Report Builder on the SharePoint site.

The above statement is a valid statement.

Hi,

Actually the second link is same with the link which i provided in my first post.

As for the first link, it's talking about the Kerberos authentication but my scenario is using SAML Claim authentication (a custom STS as my identity provider).

i am sorry, i could'nt associate the content of these 2 links with the solution that you provided earlier still.

Thanks for your efforts to help.
