Report Builder 3.0: Run view not as Designed

I've designed a single-page report in Report Builder 3.0 with all items well inside the margins:

+ pg1                       +

 [text box]  [chart 1]

 [tablix 1]   [chart 2]

 [tablix 2]   [chart 3]

+                              +

No matter what properties I edit, the report never "runs" as designed.  It always pushes Chart 3 to the second page / after Tablix 2:

+ pg1                       +

 [text box]  [chart 1]

 [tablix 1]    [chart 2]

 [tablix 2]

+                              +

                   [chart 3]

+                              +

Is there any way to prevent this?  Or can anyone recommend another support resource?

Thanks.

Hi Jay,

According to your description, you want to display all items in one page, right?

In Reporting Services, it automatically determine the area of each object based on the data. In our local environment, we have tested this scenario and achieve the requirement with sample data. In your scenario, if the tablix havs much data or the chart has a large area, Reporting Services will automatically increase each corresponding area. If the page has not enough space to display object, it will present to the next page. For you requirement, you need to reduce the area of charts so that all item can be displayed in one page. Or you can change the Size on Properties window.

If you have any other question, please feel free to ask.

Thank you for the reply.

Both tablix on the left column fit on a single page.  The third chart on the right column is dropped to a second page, even though there is plenty of white space for it to fit on the first.

You may also want to experiment the use of a Box to contain your report items.

Create a back-up of your .RDL file.

On the report, add a Box. Once the Box is in place, drag and drop your other report components into the Box. Run the report and see if this aids in keeping all report components together.
