ReportServer and ReportManager directories missing after installation and configuration

hello everyone,

I contact you because we installed Report Services 2012 and after configuring werb service URL, database, Report Manager URLs... the URLs linked to the Report server + Report Manager does not work.

After searching in IIS, it seems that even if virtual directories are created, they are linked to directories which does not exist :

       - c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.Report\Reporting Services does contain only LogFiles and RSTempFiles directories

Could you indicate me in what step (installation / Configuration) the directories ReportServer and ReportManager are created and built ?

Thanks in advance for your help

The virtual directories would not show up in IIS as SSRS no longer integrates with IIS as of 2008.  SSRS now uses the HTTP.SYS.

You should manage these using "Reporting Services Configuration Manager".  If you are having issues, you can look around via command line.

This article explains it all and should get you started down the path of figuring out what happened.

Hi Paypay41,

If you using ReportServer 2008 or above  the virtual folders are no longer configured in IIS, all is handled on the ReportServer itself.

To configure this folders you need to open: Rerporting Services Configuration Manager.

Hi Paypay41,

According to your description, you are not able to access report server and report manager, right?

When installing the reporting services use default configuration for native mode during setup, the report server web service URL and report manager URL are configured. Then we are able to access report server and report manager after installation. In your scenario, since you mention you are not able to access report server and report manager after configuring report server web service URL and report manager URL, please check if the report server web service URL and report manager URL specified in Report Server Configuration Manager is corresponding to the URL reservation defined in the RSReportServer.config file. For more information, please refer to this article: About URL Reservations and Registration (SSRS Configuration Manager).

If issue persists, there might be some error message throw out when accessing the report serve or report manager, would you please share the error message? Also please check the error log around the issue occurs to find the root cause.

If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

Best regards,
Qiuyun Yu
