Repair server 2008 R2 on multi-boot box
Hello all, I am having problems with one of the operating systems on my laptop. I have 5 host operating systems on my laptop. I have had a problem with the bootloader that I thought was only affecting server 2012 and windows 8, but believe it may have caused problems with 2K8R2. I was doing some updates on it yesterday, then on restart, it didn't automatically go into R2, after selecting it and trying to boot from it failed. Since then, it is unbootable after getting the message that windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change may have caused it, then there is the option to startup with repair or boot normally. normal boot fails. I assumed that I would be able to repair it with the install disk, but I could only reinstall the OS. I tried to do the in place upgrade from windows 7, as I found, that this can be used to repair an existing OS, but it didn't have the option to specify which partition I wanted to do it on. Does anyone have any ideas for repairing this in a multi-boot system? I may just end up reinstalling it - though that will involve getting a new key from dreamspark...and having to setuo 2008 R2 = pain in my ass.
