Renewing a Code Signing Certificate
Hi All, We have a code signing certificate that we have used to sign powershell scripts and other code. This certificate is due to expire soon and there was no timestamping done (this will be done as part of our updated code signing process as requested in http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserversecurity/thread/22399e32-6eba-45eb-9c39-7c96d2cda650/ )My question is - can I renew the certificate with same key and publish it somewhere so the certicate is considered valid or will I need to re-sign every piece of code again with the new certificate? Re-signing is a painful process as there are hundreds of pieces of signed code deployed. Thanks for any helpPete

you will have to resign all scripts, because even certificate is renewed, original signing certificate is attached to signature. http://www.sysadmins.lv
