Hi Guys, I am looking for a way to rename multiple computer account in domain. I tried the netdom command from my windows 7 (RSAT Installed) dekstop and it is successful while renaming the windows Vista desktops but failed while renaming windows XP desktop with following error. The attempt to open the service control manager on exp-helpdesk failed with error 5. Unable to determine if the Certificate Authority service is installed. Access is denied. The command failed to complete successfully. I am using domain Adminitrator account while doing this exercise. Can you help me to resolve this issue? Thanks in advance. Hi Kale please try to include the /force switch when you enter the netdom command in addition to the other parameters. http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;298593&x=11&y=14
