We are new to SC VMM 2012 R2, just completed the installation and initial configuration. We created a host group and added one of the HV cluster host server to the group for testing. Now we want to safely remove the host server, does the removal of HV cluster as well the host server affect the server in any manner?

You can remove the host from VMM console without any effect on the hyper-v and cluster .

(after you added the host into VMM ,  two "components" were installed into hyper-v host : "VMM agent" and "VMM DHCP server " , if they were not removed after performing "remove" successfully in VMM then you can muanually uninstall them in "Programs and features")
