Remove RMS from Domain Controller
hi all i have exsiting RMS in our domain and need to remove RMs before install AD RMS. Win 2003 SE-32 bit Domain Controller( it's addicational DC ) and we have RMS 1.0 with SP2 insalled in Domain Controller itself. SQl back End is SQl Cluster which is used for Other applications as well(SCOM,SCCM,etc..) now i want to remove remove RMS from Domain ( cos it's laready has SCP ). as i found from technet, these are the steps which i have to follow to remove RMS. 1:Enabling the Decommissioning Service http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc720261(WS.10).aspx 2: remove RMS if i don't know the Private Key Password, need to reset http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc747800(WS.10).aspx my question is can i demote MY domain Service from the Server first (we have new addications DC and anyway DC need to dicommision) and then do this RMS unistalltion process. hope otherwise i have to perform some steps in AD Restore mode?? if it's okay to remove domain service( decommiation-by dcpromo) first and remove RMS with log local administrator accoutns ( run as domain accoutnt to remove RMS- RMS Admin Account ) thank you Indunil http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc720261(WS.10).aspx
