A SAP team member from my employer has asked the server team to consider the removal of IE from our SAP 2008 R2 servers. The stated purpose for this is to avoid having to install IE security and critical updates. I'm aware that "removing" IE does not necessarily remove the libraries associated with it, thus not releaving us of the need for updates and patches. Please correct me if I'm wrong on this. The SAP team provided me an article describing how to do this; http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957700 My Questions; What other plausible consequences are there to following the steps in the above article to "uninstall" IE? Has anyone else here made removal of IE a standard for production servers and if so how have you done this; i.e.. followed the article above or done something more? Any other comments surrounding this topic? Thanks, Jason Wilcox
