Remote registry issue
I am trying to create a Oracle Grid Infrustructure (RAC) on 2 Windows 2008 R1 HP proliant servers. One of the pre-checks for this is to ensure that each node can update the others Registery. When I open the Registry and try to connect to the registry on the remote node, a username and password dialog comes up. Oracle is telling me that if the username and passwords on both boxes are the same and that the remote registry service is running this dialog should not appear.

Are your servers Domain Members or stand alone machines? And are you logged in as the common account?

Both server are on the Domain but I am logged in as a local Admin on both boxes. The user name and password are the same for the local admin account

Hi, Now that the computers have joined domain, I wonder why you have to use local user account. You may add a domain user to the local Administrators group on both computer and update the registry with this domain account. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
