Remote desktop sessions
Does anyone know ifyou can just use the local domain account for remote desktop access? Not sure if that makes sense.I tried the Server 2008 and I noticed that when remotely loggin onto it, the session was the exact same as when I was sitting in front of the server. It showed the same windows and all that I left open when I was in front of the server. But with server 2003, I get a whole new session when remotely logging in. Is there a way to use the current session, so I only use one session when I am in front of the server and when I am remotely logged in. I tried the single session per user in the Terminal configuration, but that just allows one session instead of the current local domain session. Is this possible in 2003 or is it only in 2008? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

hi there, in order to use the current session , you can use the console switch along with mstsc eg: mstsc /consoleYes , you can use workgroup administrator credentials / local administrator account to login to the RDP session. Hope this answers your question , if not please do post back heresainath

not sure what you mean by mstsc /console, cause that just gives me the RDC window. I mean is there a way to use the current local domain session in progress on the server 2003, the same session as if I was sitting in front of the server myself. Because everytime I use RDC, I login with a shadow or background session with the same login credentials. I don't want a background login session, I'm looking for the local current session. Hopefully that makes more sense. Thanks!
