I'm in the middle of a SBS 2003 -> 2011 migration which was going good until my old source server coughed and spluttered and unpon reboot all my users had gone. After a while trying to figure out how it happened I then recreated the users and attached the orphaned mailboxes, (I am trying to avoid a restore) but obviously now when a user logs on they get a fresh desktop instead of their normal one. So my question is can I manually move the previous profile files from the old local user folder to the new? - it looks like it renames it from 'person' to 'person.000' but I'm worried that using the same logon name may cause the existing data to be overwritten. Thanks for your help, I've had a bad day.
