Redirected Application Data
I have a situation where it is becoming vital to redirect domain users' application data. I have a question before I proceed. Is there any way to preserve the currently stored application data while copying it to the redirected application data location for each user? I know windows has been know to be picky about moving this directory and even when proper permissions are given, the app data is either inaccessible or corrupted in the process. Any ideas? MCP

Hi, By default, the data in the original folder will be deleted after files are copied to the new folder redirection path. You may consider to uncheck the "move the contents of my documents to the new location" box of the Application Data folder redirection policy. In this way, the original folders/files will not be moved to the server share. Additionally, youd better backup the critical data before implementing the folder redirection policy in order to reduce the risk.

I think this is more or less what I was looking for. Thanks! MCP
