Reactive windows SBS 2000 CALS from floppy.
No one at microsoft australia can help me. I have waisted 5 days and 5 hours on the phone and have no resolution. All they say is SBS 2000 not supported. This is my last chance. Customer runs SBS 2000 they cannot upgrade due to a legacy application running on it. Server Failed, mother board replace, Network MAC has changed SBS 2000 CALS lost. Have CAL Floppy disks. Load CAL Floppy disks Get a message. MAC address has changed. please ring MS Support and quote System ID 87D29429 Product ID 51876--66-0-02323-56-06 and they will suppy a password you type here to reactive CALS. Picture at Http://www.cie.net.au/sbscal.jpg the trouble is every time you run you get different numbers Why can no one at product activations give me the password ? Partner Support say Discontinued product can not help. This is microsoft copy protection. The customer has a legal copy and should be able to run it. Just becuse MS have dropped support should not mean you can not get CALS activated. Will this mean when MS drop support for XP that you will not be able to reactivate any more ?? Can you download a password generator if not supported then. Charles

Hello, for SBS experts the better forum is: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/smallbusinessserver/threads And the answer is correct Windows 2000 is out of support.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.
