RIS and DHCP
Apologies for asking a Windows 2003 Server question but I coouldn't find such a forum here. Anyway... I understand that if you are running RIS you have to have DHCP running on the same domain? Is this correct. At present our DHCP servers are on a totally different domain and indeed VLAN. Any advice/help would be most appreciated!

Hello, yes, you need a DHCP server in the network where you like to inntall RIS. Hi there, just to clarify - having a DHCP server on a totally different VLAN/Domain is not going to help us?

Hello, make sure they can connect to the DHCP server from the VLANs: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc787684(WS.10).aspxBest regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.
