RDS 2012R2 - change user /install

Accidentally I've installed most applications on a RDS 2012R2 PoC (Office 2003/2010 and various others) without using change user /install.

1.  Is change user /install required for every install, or as in Citrix if .msi are used is the mode changed automatically?

2.  What are the side affects of not changing the install mode, specifically Office 2003/2010?

3. What's recommended best practice?

There seems much information on RDS 2008 but little definitive for 2012.

Thanks

for TS-aware applications such as MS office for example, it will automatically detect that RDS is deployed and it will install it as if you had already ran the change user command so it's not necessary.

in fact most modern applications don't require you to make the change before installing them, it's kind of becoming a legacy thing now

if you're still hesitant then use the command, it won't make matters worse at least

behavior is difficult to tell, if you run the same application in more than one session and start noticing issues when saving files and such then you know you have a problem but again with MS products you will not likely run into that, 3rd party products are somewhat less resilient to RDS
