RDS - Different external web access domain to internal domain

Hi guys

Last year I deployed RDS 2008 successfully for a small farm and external access etc. I kept things simple and my internal domain example.com was the same as my external web access domain on the internet. This all works fine and made my life easier regarding certificates.

I am not looking to upgrade/redesign RDS to 2012. This time around I am thinking it would be more user friendly to change the external web address to another domain I own. Is this common practice to use a different external domain to the rest of the internal RDS environment and other than getting the certificates correct are there any issues I should be looking out for?

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks

Hi,

As long as the new web address is resolvable, I dont see any potential issue here.

Best Regards,
Amy
