RDP security question/help for mobile admin
Afternoon all, I administer well over 100 servers between our local co-lo and amazon's ec2 cloud. I use both a laptop and iPad along with a 4G hotspot. I can use SSH key's for my linux servers easily and since IP's change all the time, it makes
RDP'ing into the windows one a pain. Amazon doesn't have a VPN yet, I could start a micro, setup openVPN, etc. but rather not add work.
So is there a windows app or way to share something private that when I start the RDP app it looks for that 1st, so I don't need to constantly login to amazon, add an IP for each time I need to do something?
Tnx

Hello,
maybe in
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/winserverTS/threads you'll find an answer.
But i think the access problems belong to Amazon and not to Microsoft.Best regards

Thanks but I do disagree on that. Regardless to amazon, a local ISP, etc. I was simply trying to see if there was a protocol or something that could allow me to open RDP to the world. Before I see a brute force attack, something that checked
for a key or handoff, then if it was successful, then allow the RDP login. As I said, I could do it via an OpenVPN setup, etc. but just seeing if anyone has experience.
I will look at that other forum however,
Tnx
