RDP certificate thumbprint not showing

Hello,

We re using azure for past 2 months, Everything was going well,

Suddenly one vm we are not able to take the RDP.

I checked in dashboard and noticed there is 0 bytes of network in and out,

and also found there is no record of rdp certificate thumbprint and host name.

Also tried to ping from other vm but no response.

Can any one help me in this.

Abhishek

Hi,

What is your VM status, running or stopped? Did you try to check your VM Remote Desktop setting? I guess it may be stopped. If you didn't find the Remote Desktop endpoint setting, you could add the new Remote Desktop endpoint for you VM.

Please try it.

Hi,

Please check whether enable the Remote Desktop endpoint.

You could refer to this documents:http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/virtual-machines-set-up-endpoints/  about how to enable a endpoints.

hi Abhishek,

Please try to delete the remote desktop endpoints from azure portal and recreate it again.

Any result, please let me know.

Which image are you using ? (Your own image or gallery images on the Azure portal).

Could you please try restarting, resizing, or recreating the VM with the same VHD and see if that helps ?

Abhishek,

I had the same issue and I de-provisioned the machine then ran the following powershell commands:

  1. Get-AzureVM ServiceName <service> -Name <vm>
  2. Get-AzureVM ServiceName <service> -Name <vm> | Set-AzureVMAccessExtension | Update-AzureVM

I am now able to RDP on the machine but its taking longer time to connect than other VMs on Azure.

The RDP Certificate Thumbprint is still missing(let me know if there is a fix for this)
Thanks,
Syed Shiraz
