RDP 8.0 on Windows 7 SP1

Recently (a couple of days ago) I upgraded my Windows Home Server box (an Acer H340 that was running WHS 2011) to Windows Server 2012 Essentials.  It is running great, but I've run into something interesting, and I'm not sure what to do next:

I regularly used the RWA function of Windows Home Server to connect from my office PC (running Windows 7 SP1) to my home PC (last week running Windows 8 RP).  Our work PCs were recently updated to to RDP 8.0 (last week).  When the RDP 8.0 rollout occurred, the RWA connectivity to my home was enhanced in both performance and experience (I could see the wallpaper on my home PC due to the dynamic performance throttling, and things generally ran faster).  After upgrading to WS2012E on that Acer (and Windows 8 GA) over the weekend, I am now no longer able to use RWA to connect from my office PC to either my home PC or my WS2012E dashboard; I receive the following error when attempting to connect to either of them:

"Your computer can't connect to the remote computer because an error occurred on the remote computer."

What's strange, though, is the things that DO work:

1. - If I uninstall the RDP 8.0 rollout from last week at work, I can connect just fine.  Since the WSUS server at work forces the update out, this isn't a permanent solution...

2. - If I attempt to connect from a Windows 8 PC at home, I can connect just fine (routing through RWA and such).

3. - I'm able to use RDP to connect to other machines at work, although none of the systems at work are currently Windows 8/WS2012, so RDP 8.0 isn't really being utilized as I understand it.

I'm honestly at a loss as to what I should try next; hopefully someone has some thoughts on some magical tweak that will make things wonderful.&nb

Installing http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2574819 and
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2592687 on a Windows 7 and then
attempting to RWA to a SBS 2011 standard/essentials or Essentials 2012
server fails.

I am not seeing this on SBS 2008.

Hang loose while this is investigated, don't roll these out to
workstations if those workstations use Remote Web Access to connect.

I'm also seeing this issue. The strangest thing is there is no indication of an error in the Event Logs on either end.

Hi Susan,

I still have these two on my 'don't install' list and can't find any further updates - did you ever get to the bottom of these and are they safe to release yet?

TIA

Mike.
