I have a question for Windows 2008 R2 - RDC

Our Client want more than 2 connections to the server that is available free with windows 2008 R2 RDC. 

The Question is :

If i configure the licensing server in a standalone mode , will he be able to Login 15 user - should it be per user or per device setting.

And if we do not purchase license untill it expires will it stop working after 120 days even for the 2 free connections ?

In order to choose Per User or Per Device you should count the total number of unique humans and unique devices (PC, Mac, iPad, Android, etc.) that are expected to connect to the server using Remote Desktop.  Whichever total is less will likely be the lowest cost licensing option.

You may always have up to 2 concurrent Active sessions on the server for administrative purposes only, regardless of whether or not there are any RDS licenses or the server is or is not within the 120 day grace period.  These may be accessed by using the /admin command line switch, like this:

mstsc /admin
