Hi all I might get told this is not the correct place to ask this question but I could not find anywhere else. And it will be very simple for someone to tell me. I want to up grade the RAM in a desktop of mine. Well in 2. On the dell website it says one takes ddr2 sdram dimm 240 pin 800MHz (pc2-6400) and the other takes ddr2 sdram dimm 240 pin 667MHz (pc2-5300). Can I put any ddr2 sdram RAM in each one or does the speed and pc2-6400 or pc2-5300 have to be the same? Thanks Very much!!

Depending on what your hardware can use. Some hardware platforms allow you to install a slower speed Memory module but all of your memory modules would run at the lower speed now. Dell would be the best people to talk with they give free support for these types of questions.
