R2 vs 2008, Any advantage as DC?
I'm planning on upgrading one (or two) of my servers to Server 2008 R2 but I have a Domain Controller already running Server 2008. Would there be any advantage to running R2 on the DC or would the upgrade be moot? I've checked around but couldn't find anything on this topic. Thanks for the info.

IMHO upgrading 1 DC to R2 is not going to give you a significant benefit over 2008, although you could argue a good case around the AD Powershell provider for AD (and CMDLets). Probably the biggest benefit comes when you are able to raise the forest functional level to 2008 R2 (Level 4) and implement the AD Recycle Bin feature. I guess it will boil down to what features are of most interest to you. For a list see the link below. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/active-directory.aspx Tony
