Pushing updates without WSUS
Here is my issue,
I have a bunch of users, who are not admins on their boxes for obvious reasons, all have adobe reader installed. The adobe reader constantly wants to update itself. I want to allow Adobe to update itself, however, the users do not have permissions to allow
this.
Can updates for adobe reader be installed silently via a GP or in some other way from W2K3 without implementing WSUS? I ask here because I am having the same issues with other programs and want to check here first for any thoughts before attempting this
from each vendor software.
Thanks!

WSUS is only for Microsoft products, not 3rd party...like Adobe.

Try the application publishing feature from Group Policy

Otherwise look at SCCM, Altiris, or other third party application deployment services.

Hello,
since some weeks there is a great option prepared from Alan Burchill to use GPP to update Adobe:
