Proxy Server - 2 ethernet card
Hello,
Proxy(Squid) is installed on Windows 2008 R2 Server. The server is connected to the intra and inter network using two independent ethernet ports. It is possible to access the intranet as well as internet in the same machine.
How can I achieve the other elements in the intranet to communicate to internet through proxy server.
additional Info:
1st Ethernet Card - intranet
IP: 10.80.251.10/24
DG: 10.80.251.254 (OSPF)
2d Ethernet Card - internet
IP: DHCP
Expecting the positive reply
Thank you

The problem you are having is that your intranet default gateway address is not actually on the same network as your intranet-side IP address.
If your host's IP address is 10.80.251.10/24 that means it is on the network 10.80.251.0. Your default gateway is listed as 10.80.255.254. That is not a valid address on your host's subnet. I'm not sure why you have "OSPF" listed after
the gateway as end-hosts shouldn't be participating in routing protocols, especially one as complicated as OSPF. That's something routers do, not servers.
Figure out what your actual gateway address is on the 10.80.251.0 network and change it.

read this article, in general you should not use DHCP when multihoming computers, you must use static IP Addresses, and then define any routes needed into the routing table.

Hi Srimadhumohan,
Thanks for posting here.

Yes, just need correctly set route entries on this server especially the default gateway , see the articles below:
How to Configure a Default Gateway for Multihomed Computer with LAN and Internet Access

Could you post the route table of this server here ?

Not quite family with Squid, but seems you are running Windows server OS, then by enabling and configure built in NAT (included in RRAS) or ICS are the ways for you
to achieve the goal:
Internet Connection Sharing and network address translation

Proxy servers have nothing to do with RRAS or default gateways. If you are relying on default gateways and RRAS, you are using NAT, not proxy.
NAT will work without making changes in the client OS. Ths client behaves as if it has a direct connection to the Internet because NAT handles the address translation.
To use a proxy server, you must make changes in the client itself. The proxy client must know the proxy server's IP address and must be able to contact it directly. It does not need a default gateway because it does not need to find a router. The
proxy server handles its Internet access and the client contacts the proxy directly.
