Promoted people result (phonetic matching)

Hi All,

I want to show People on the results.aspx page. I created a promoted result to show people depending on the query you enter in the searchbox. Now when I search for "An", "Ann" is not shown. It is shown on the Peopleresults.aspx page. I suppose this is due to the people phonetic algorithm which is not triggered.

Anonyone did this before?

Regards,

Ludwig

Query rules are associated with a particular search result. If your query rule is trying to promote people it will only work if the query rule is associated with the local people search index result source. It will not work with other types of result sources.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your answer.

A query rule is associated with a specific result source if I'm not mistaken?

Anyway, I think I did what you described and it is not working for me.

I created a custom Result source "Custom - Everything - ENG" which only searches for english documents, pages, ... We have a result source for each language since we are in a multilingual environment.

I created a Query Rule which runs again this result source and searches in the "Local People Search" result source and returns the people matching the keyword. It does return people but not the people who match phonetic. So the query rule shows less people than the standard peopleresults.aspx page. Which is really strange from a end-user perspective.
