Problems with virtual directories: IIS 7.0 server; Virt. Dirs. on 2003 Servers
Server: Server 2008 Ent. x86 (virtualized under Server 2008 Ent x64); stand alone server (no AD)Virtual Directory Servers: Windows Server 2003 (various); AD member servers of different domainsWe just moved many sites over to our new IIS 7.0/Server 2008 Dell Server. We have used virtual directories in the past with no problems, but when you try and access some of the content, OCASIONALLY, you get various problems and can't access. The occasional part makes it hard to figure out.The error messages in the App log that seem to apply:Exception message: An error occurred loading a configuration file: Failed to start monitoring changes to '\\hostname\path' because the network BIOS command limit has been reached. For more information on this error, please refer to Microsoft knowledge base article 810886. Hosting on a UNC share is not supported for the Windows XP Platform.Anyone else had this?Jeff

Hello Jeff, According to the description, the issue seems to be related to IIS. As we mainly focus on the general question about Windows Server system and here is not the best support resource for IIX, it is recommend you to get further support in the corresponding forum.
