Problems with internet & windows server 2008
HiI am in need of some advice. Iam new to thewhole server bussiness and have a question. I have set up a windows server 2008 with dhcp, dns, and file sharing. realy basic stuff. But after a week i started to notice that intenet once and a while stopt working. Outlook & other internet related programs did not work. also when i typed in an internet adres in internet explorer it did not work. But the strange thing is when i typed something in the bing search bar it worked perfect an gave a list of search results; When i clicked on a search result it did not load the page. When i reboot the server all is just fine for a random time..Does anyone know what to do?

Hello, sounds for me like pure DNS problems, let's start with an unedited ipconfig /all from the server and one client to verify/exclude DNS.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

Hi BouR,Inline to Meinolf's suggestion, you may consider to use Conditionalforwarders for Internet name resolution instead of root hints. For you information:968372Windows Server 2008 DNS Servers may fail to resolve queries for some top-level domainshttp://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;968372To use Conditional forwarders for Internet name resolution, you can refer to:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc754931.aspxHope it helps.Regards,Wilson Jia This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
