The description for Event ID 12385 from source BizTalk Server cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

An exception occurred while uninstalling. This exception will be ignored and the uninstall will continue. However, the application might not be fully uninstalled after the uninstall is complete.

the message resource is present but the message is not found in the string/message table

I have made sure the following are enabled:

Network DTC Access, Allow Inbound, Allow Outbound, No Authentication Required, Enable XA Transactions, Enable SNA LU 6.2 Transactions

I have also run DTCPing and it passes fine, has anyone got any more suggestions.

Have you tried the following steps in this article: BizTalk Server - Troubleshooting Problems with MSDTC

You also have to verify that the firewall and antivirus isnt blocking the request. Can you also provide us with the log file from the configuration of BizTalk?

Edit: Also make sure you didn't cluster the MSDTC on the Active / Active BizTalk cluster.

Best regards

Hi, you do have MSDTC related problems.

Now you have to figure out where... :)

Lets call your Servers BT1, BT2, SQL1, SQL2.

On the SQL Cluster you need to cluster the MSDTC (verify that clustered MSDTC has the right configuration, and not the "local one" in the SQL Cluster.

If you have clustered the BizTalk servers I strongly recommend to do it as active / active since you are paying for the license even if BizTalk is "passive" or not.

Run DTCPing and DTCTester from BT1 - SQLClusterName (not SQL1 or SQL2 but the cluster name) - If everything is fine, good!

Run DTCPing and DTCTester from SQL server (active node) back to BT1

Do the same with BT2.

You can also try and run the configuration from BT1 and BT2 to see if you get the same result.

You want to create the full connection towards the servers in order to verify the connection

Best regards

Thanks for your help, removing DTC from cluster fixed the problem..

August 27th, 2013 11:19am

Hi Tord,

Even though i got it working when it was not clustered the company i work for wants it clustered so i am back to the same problem i have tested it with DTCPing both ways and it passes fine,

Do you think it could be something to do with server 2012 as i have had the same setup on BizTalk 2010 running on Server 2008 r2 without any problems.

Thanks

Well, as long as you removed the MSDTC from the BizTalk cluster you're gooe.

the MSDTC is supposed to be used by BizTalk to communicate with the SQL, imagine clustering this one a active / active environment only one of them would have the MSDTC running on that machine, therefor the other wouldn't work.

I don't know why your company want to enforce policy that doesn't really work? however if this was for an active / passive then yes, you'd have to cluster the MSDTC.

I'm having exact same errors, but removing DTC from SSO cluster role in SQL Servers didn't help.

Do you have SSO clustered in BTS servers or in SQL servers (like I have)?

I suppose that when Tord refers to active/active environment, he is talking about clustered Biztalk servers, not clustered SQL servers or clustered SSO role/group in SQL server cluster?

I'm trying to solve this case with MS, but please let me know if you have found a solution to this already!

Thanks

Hi bud!

MSDTC needs to be clustered in the SQL Server (active/passive).

If you can share your error log from configuration I can try and help you out! :)

Hi Tord,

I've been facing this problem too, and I'm a bit out of solutions to try.

Here is some informations:

2 SQL 2012 clustered (DTC and SSO are also clustered)

1 Biztalk 2013 standard

No Firewall, No UAC, DTC configured.

DTCPing and DTCTester reveal no errors.

On the BizTalk configuration, i was able to configure SSO, the Group, the BRE but the BizTalk Runtime configuration keeps failling telling me that he can't import a DTC transaction.

I've followed this guide to the letter, still the same issue. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa561924.aspx

If you want I can provide you the error log from BizTalk Configuration

all of these questions are "different" questions, please start new questions on them so I can help follow them up! =)

I got rid of this error by giving Read permission to SSO service account for the cluster.

  1.       Open  Failover Cluster manager console.
  2.       Right-click on the cluster name, and click on Properties
  3.       On the Cluster Properties  dialog box, click on Cluster Permissions tab.
  4.       Grant read Rights for the  EntSSO service account.
  5.    Restart the SSO cluster role/group

Thanks to the MS Support!

Thanks Tord. We had the same issue as well. Removing the DTC from the BT cluster and giving permissions on the SQL cluster solved the problem.
