Problems installing windows service?
As a followup to this question: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverGP/thread/ff8975f4-bda1-4211-9981-58704a9cad7f I have gathered some more info. But to sum up, a service that I wrote will not install on a client machine due to a 1920 error, insufficient permissions. I am using Network Service to start So the network the customer is trying to install this service on is some testing network- it is isolated from there corporate network. The real kicker is that a service that I am trying to install with WiX will NOT start if a VM has an active network interface- and if you disable that network interface (i.e. unplug the vm from the LAN) the install works just fine. This is totally perplexing for me. Why would a service not start because it is connected to the LAN? The service itself never even reaches the first line of code, so its something maybe about the installation process? Thoughts?
