Problem with Remote Desktop - Error Message
I have Windows XP Professional. I am trying to use the remote desktop to connect to a POS system. After I enter the IP address I get an error box that says "Remote Desktop Connection has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Then it gives me the option of sending an error report. I called the POS people and they did remote access and checked to make sure everything was configured correctly, it was. They told me it was microsoft. I called microsoft and they told me that Remote Desktop came preinstalled and to call HP. I called HP and they said it was problem with a microsoft program call microsoft. I have been chasing my tail for two days! Please help!

What version of RDP are you using? Have you tried 6.0? Also, you should see some error messages in the event log. Paste the details here.
